KILLING THE BUTTERFLY: Chapter One

   She moved in with her Aunt Meredith the summer of her fourteenth year. And it had been fourteen years of chaos and insanity. Especially the month leading up to now.

   Sure, Aunt Meredith was nice and smart and friendly, but Patty always wondered if she was indeed related. Her mother had been so different: mean and stupid and unbearable. A new town, a new school (and high school at that), and so a new beginning. It made Patty excited, but anxious and, yes, somewhat terrified.
